Alex Alves

Alex has over 21 years experience of teaching all primary age ranges from 2 - 11 years in state, independent and international settings. She is currently teaching full-time at a leading midlands prep school and familiar with current methods and examinations. Available for small group or individual tutoring. Specialist subjects: Maths; reading comprehension; creative writing and verbal/ non-verbal reasoning. Alex has experience of working with children with SEND including dyslexia, autism and ADHD. She has also worked to stretch high ability children. She is familiar with SATs, 11+ entrance examinations, plus other assessments including NFER tests. 

Alex also works as an international expedition leader in the school holidays where she enjoys leading conservation initiatives, mountain trekking and becoming fully immersed in different worldwide cultures.
